ARMY STRATEGIC EDUCATION PROGRAM
The United States Army established the Army Strategic Education Program (ASEP) in 2016 to manage the General Officer Education Program for Regular Army, Army Reserve and National Guard officers. ASEP is to reduce redundancy of program courses through convegence and formalize selection and attendance to meet both Army and officer requirements: Putting the right offer in the right course at the right time.
ASEP plans, coordinates, and executes Professional Military Education for the entire population of Army General Officers across the total force. The program executes rigorous mandatory education of over 400 General Officers annually, through five core courses attended at key milestones in the careers of our GOS: ASEP- Basic; ASEP – Advanced; ASEP – Senior, and ASEP – Transition. Coordinators and funds attendance to additional courses executive by Army, Joint, International, corporations, and civilian institutions of higher education.
