
Dr. Tino Perez
Chair of Executive and Strategic Leadership
In his time as Associate Professor in the USAWC Department of National Security Strategy, COL (Ret) Tino Perez, Ph.D, RES’15, became well known for his groundbreaking and innovative work with the Carlisle Scholars Program. In 2019, he was appointed as USAWC’s General Douglas MacArthur Chair of Research and also served as a visiting associate professor at Columbia University. His research and writing interests are military ethics, political judgment, strategic thinking, war, coercion, and military education. Now as the Chair of Executive and Strategic Leadership, he serves as a subject matter expert on teaching executive and strategic leadership, with a focus on national security, innovation, and diversity. He develops and maintains a research agenda in this areas within the context of the national security community, changing strategic environments, and disruptive change. As chair, Dr. Perez engages regularly in outreach, attends scholarly conferences, and develops relationships with academic, corporate, and governmental institutions.
