I’m writing this from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Civic Center in Dallas, Texas. We are assisting the city of Dallas and our Federal interagency partners in establishing a 250-bed Federal Medical Station. I currently command the 1st Medical Brigade and we already deployed two Hospital Centers/Field Hospitals in support of Seattle and NYC. Our Brigade is under the operational control of ARNORTH (JFLCC). A great USAWC connection in this ongoing response effort is my 2016 seminar-mate COL Phil Gage. Phil currently serves as the G3 ARNORTH and his efforts are instrumental in the ongoing COVID response in the Homeland and I am fortunate to work with him again, especially in his new capacity.
