I am Director of Strategic Communications for the Military Health System in direct support of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (The Honorable Tom McCaffery) and the Director of the Defense Health Agency (LTG Ron Place, U.S. Army). We serve as the center of gravity for communications efforts involving military health, including COVID-19 support. We provide strategic communications and information to 9.5 million beneficiaries eligible for the TRICARE health benefit (through TRICARE.mil and other sources). We conduct media engagements, press conferences, and responses to media inquiries, write senior leader strategic messaging, strategic planning, strategic outreach, manage the health.mil and tricare.mil websites (two of the top five in DOD) and all internal communications, marketing, graphics support, and customer service through web inquiries. These are busy and critical times, indeed.
