As a contractor supporting the DHS/Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), I have been working critical infrastructure and cross-sector business issues as part of the Emergency Support Function (ESF)-14 team at both HHS and FEMA since early February 2020. In this role, I coordinate responses to information requests from Federal interagency, state, local, tribal, and territorial agencies, along with private sector partners. Mostly, I try to make sure current and correct guidance from CDC, HHS, and other authoritative sources is communicated pro-actively as their jurisdictions respond to growing numbers of patients and employees affected by the virus. Also, going up the chain, we provide current situational awareness information for senior level government decisionmakers.
