I work for City of Atlanta as a Director of Management Consulting. I am part of the city’s First Responders team. In the Department of Watershed Management, the operations support division has three sections: Dispatch, Specialists, and Restoration. I supervise crews who perform restoration work after major utility repairs, in addition to managing our dispatch and utility specialist teams. Our team consists of 115 employees of different skills and experiences. We operate on 24/7 basis with more emergency response now during the COVID-19 national and local response. As a result of the COVID-19, our dispatch section staff is teleworking from home as they manage the essential communication between our different water and waste water infrastructure maintenance crews. The employees of the two other sections have to still show up to work and perform field work to ensure that essential services continue to be provided to our customers.
