I’ve been working on the COVID-19 response for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I work in the Operations Office of the Transatlantic Division, one of USACE’s nine divisions. I am the project delivery team leader for a packet to explain to our personnel and those at the Embassies how USACE Alternate Care Facilities (hotel to healthcare facility, arena to healthcare facility) may apply in their nations. This packet has been distributed in CENTCOM, INDO-PACOM, AFRICOM, EUCOM, and SOUTHCOM. As a result, several nations have taken action to move forward on various kinds of facilities and efforts to help alleviate suffering within their populations.
