I am currently running the operational response to the COVID-19 crisis for both the Army and Air forces of the Ohio National Guard. Usually, I am the Assistant Adjutant General for Army but when Ohio’s Adjutant General, MG John Harris (DDE ’06), was pulled over to the Ohio EMA to more closely support the Governor, I was placed in charge of Ohio’s response. We are responding well and among the things I have been able to leverage are the relationships I developed during my War College experience. One of my cohort partners, BG Jeff Terrill (DDE ’14), is the JTF commander in Michigan running their COVID response. Jeff and I have been in constant contact discussing options and actions, as well as passing off best practices. It has been very helpful to have a sounding board for ideas and support through all of this.
