As with many USAWC graduates, Ms. Beth Williams is doing her part to support the women and men of her agency in this unprecedented period in history. She was named the National Security Agency (NSA) COVID-19 Event Lead in mid-March. She recruited a small, expert team drawn from across the Agency, and established a partnership with the Occupational Health, Environmental, and Safety Services personnel who had spent the previous three months on NSA’s medical and environmental preparations. She and her team synchronize the Agency’s operational, human resources, policy and logistics efforts. She coordinates information sharing with the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, local military posts, and foreign partners. She and her team, on behalf of the Director NSA (GEN Paul Nakasone, RES ’07), ensure clear, timely, and transparent communication of NSA’s COVID-19 response with the entire civilian, military, and contractor workforce. More importantly, the team is focused on the health and safety of the workforce, so the workforce is able to focus on the vital mission of the Agency.
